The Unbelievable Creation of Modern Science & Technology - The most advanced humanoid robot, ASIMO

 

Close your eyes. Think a moment about modern technology and science. You will be definitely surprised. 

Now I’m going to accompany you across an interesting article about ASIMO. 

ASIMO...Who is that?…….. 

ASIMO is an unbelievable humanoid robot which is believed as one of the most advanced social robots. 

The great Effort of HONDA….. 

This amazing robot was created by the HONDA in 2000 after a dedicated effort, taken over than 15 years. 

ASIMO is currently displayed in the Miraikan museum in Tokyo, Japan.

 

ASIMO..???? What is it stands for? 

Yes. ASIMO stands for “Advanced Step of Innovative Mobility” 

…..and it is also said that the name ASIMO was chosen in honour of Isaac Asimov. 

And also, it is stated that the acronym “ASIMO” was derived from the Japanese word ‘asi’ which loosely translate to ‘foot’ or ‘leg’.

 

How he looks like…? 

Yes, of course, let’s get to know how ASIMO looks like. 

Height     :       130 cm (4 ft 3 in / 51.2 in)

Weight    :       48 kg (105.8 lb)

Width      :       45 cm (17.7 in) 

ASIMO is powered by a rechargeable 51.8V lithium-ion battery with an operating time of 1 hour.

 

Why ASIMO is so special…? 

Yes. That’s a good question. And that’s the most interesting part about ASIMO. 

ASIMO has the ability to recognize moving objects and proceed  his cute camera eyes according to its movement. And also to recognize the sounds associated with a falling object or collision. 

He can identify postures, gestures, sounds and faces, understand the surrounding and construct a good picture of his environment. 

ASIMO is able to respond to his name and questions by nodding or providing verbal answers in English or Japanese. 

Especially he can recognize 10 different faces and address them by their names. 

Much Wonderful!! Isn’t it?

 

Is that all…..? 

No. No. We don’t discuss his moving abilities. Do we? 

ASIMO is currently the most physically capable robot with the ability to walk in about 2.7km/h (1.7mph), run in about 9km/h and even climb the stairs. Also, he can kick a soccer ball and he is able to do all of these tasks with a notable sense of balance and agility.

 

ASIMO today…… 

In 2018, HONDA ceased the commercial development of ASIMO, although it will continue to be developed as a research platform and make public appearance.

 

Good news ……. 

“ASIMO will not be employed for any military purpose”

HONDA stated. So, ASIMO will not contribute to commit violent crimes.

 

A final word….. 

In present, ASIMO travels around the world as an ambassador to robots kind while bewildering mankind. 

In future, HONDA assumes that ASIMO will be a good nurse for the innocent elderly people, especially who confined to bed or wheelchair, to get medicine and to be treated. 

He may also be a good assistant in one day to interact with dangerous tasks such as chemical practical and fighting with fire.

ඔබේ ඇස් වසා ගන්න. නවීන තාක්ෂණය හා විද්‍යාව ගැන මොහොතක් සිතන්න. ඔබ අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම පුදුම වනු ඇත. 

ASIMO .... ඒ කවුද? …….

ASIMO යනු ඇදහිය නොහැකි මානව රොබෝවකි, එය වඩාත්ම දියුණු සමාජ රොබෝවරුන්ගෙන් එකක් ලෙස විශ්වාස කෙරේ. 

HONDA හි සුවිසල් උත්සාහය… .. 

මෙම පුදුමාකාර රොබෝව හොන්ඩා විසින් 2000 දී නිර්මාණය කරන ලද්දේ වසර 15 කට වැඩි කාලයක් තුළ සිදු කළ දැඩි කැපවීමෙන් පසුවය.

ASIMO දැනට ජපානයේ ටෝකියෝහි මිරායිකන් කෞතුකාගාරයේ ප්‍රදර්ශනය කෙරේ. 

 ASIMO..... ???? එහි තේරුම කුමක් ද? 

ඔව්. ASIMO යනු “නවෝත්පාදන සංචලනයේ උසස් පියවර” (“Advanced Step of Innovative Mobility” ) යන්නයි.

අයිසැක් අසිමොව්ගේ ගෞරවය පිණිස අසිමෝ යන නම තෝරාගෙන ඇති බව ද කියනු ලැබේ.

තවද, “අසිමෝ” යන අක්ෂර මාලාව ව්‍යුත්පන්න වී ඇත්තේ ජපානයේ ‘ආසි’ යන වචනයෙන් වන අතර එය සරලව ‘පාදය’ හෝ ‘කකුල’ ලෙස පරිවර්තනය වේ. 

ඔහු මොන වගේද…? 

ඔව්, ඇත්ත වශයෙන්ම ASIMO පෙනුම කෙබඳුදැයි දැන ගනිමු.

උස: 130 cm (අඩි 4 in 3 in / 51.2 in)

බර: කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 48 (රාත්තල් 105.8)

පළල: සෙ.මී. 45 (අඟල් 17.7)

ASIMO  පණ ගැන්වෙන්නේ  පැය 1 ක ක්‍රියාකාරී කාලයක් සහිත නැවත ආරෝපණය කළ හැකි 51.8V ලිතියම්-අයන බැටරියක් මගිනි.

ASIMO මෙතරම් සුවිශේෂ ඇයි…? 

ඔව්. එය හොඳ ප්‍රශ්නයකි. එය ASIMO පිළිබඳ වඩාත්ම සිත්ගන්නා සුළු කොටසයි.

චලනය වන වස්තූන් හඳුනා ගැනීමට සහ එහි චලනය අනුව ඔහුගේ හුරුබුහුටි කැමරා ඇස් ඉදිරියට ගෙනයාමට ASIMO හට හැකියාව ඇත. වැටෙන වස්තුවක් හෝ ඝට්ටනයක් හා සම්බන්ධ ශබ්ද හඳුනා ගැනීමටත් ඔහු දක්ෂයෙක්.

ඔහුට ඉරියව්, අභිනයන්, ශබ්ද සහ මුහුණු හඳුනා ගැනීමටත්, අවට ඇති දේ තේරුම් ගැනීමටත්, ඔහුගේ පරිසරය පිළිබඳ හොඳ චිත්‍රයක් ගොඩ නඟාගැනීමටත් හැකිය.

ඉංග්‍රීසි හෝ ජපන් භාෂාවෙන් වාචිකව පිළිතුරු සැපයීමෙන් ASIMO ට  ඔහුගේ නම සහ ප්‍රශ්න වලට ප්‍රතිචාර දැක්විය හැකිය.

විශේෂයෙන් ඔහුට වෙනස් මුහුණු 10 ක් හඳුනාගෙන ඔවුන්ගේ නම් වලින් ආමන්ත්‍රණය කළ හැකිය. 

එපමණද…..? 

නැත. 

ASIMO වර්තමානයේ වඩාත්ම භෞතික හැකියාව ඇති රොබෝව වන අතර පැයට කි.මී. 2.7 (පැයට සැතපුම් 1.7) ක වේගයෙන් ගමන් කළ හැකි අතර පැයට කි.මී.9 ක පමණ වේගයෙන් දිවීමටත් හැකියාව ඇත. එසේම ඔහුට පාපන්දු බෝලයකට පයින් ගැසීමට හැකි අතර සමබරතාවය හා වේගවත් බව පිළිබඳ සැලකිය යුතු හැඟීමකින් මෙම සියලු කාර්යයන් කිරීමට ඔහුට හැකි වේ. 

අද ASIMO …… 

2018 දී හොන්ඩා විසින් ASIMO හි වාණිජ සංවර්ධනය නැවැත්වූ නමුත් එය පර්යේෂණ වේදිකාවක් ලෙස අඛණ්ඩව සංවර්ධනය කරයි. 

ශුභාරංචියක් ……. 

“කිසිදු හමුදා කටයුත්තක් සඳහා ASIMO සේවයේ යොදවනු නොලැබේ”

හොන්ඩා ආයතනය ප්‍රකාශ කළා. එමනිසා ASIMO අතින් සාහසික අපරාධ සිදු නොවනු ඇත.

අවසාන වචනයක්…. 

වර්තමානයේදී, ASIMO මානව වර්ගයා මවිතයට පත්කරමින් රොබෝවරුන්ගේ තානාපතිවරයකු ලෙස ලොව පුරා සංචාරය කරයි.

අනාගතයේදී, හොන්ඩා උපකල්පනය කරන්නේ අහිංසක වැඩිහිටි පුද්ගලයින්ට (විශේෂයෙන් ඇඳට හෝ රෝද පුටුවට පමණක් සීමා වූ) ඖෂධ ලබා ගැනීමට සහ ප්‍රතිකාර ලබා ගැනීමට ASIMO හොඳ සේවකයෙක් වනු ඇති බවයි.

රසායනික ප්‍රායෝගික පරීක්ෂණ හා ගිනි නිවීම වැනි භයානක කාර්යයන් සමඟ කටයුතු කිරීමට ඔහු අනාගතයේ දී හොඳ සහායකයකු වනු ඇත.
